I got up earlier than usual this morning with the express purpose of getting my room clean so that I could reward myself by putting the (ridiculous amounts of) Star Wars books I own up on the new bookshelf I got yesterday from Ikea. I like to advertise what a nerd I am, so that I can stay away from people who are going to... ostracize me, or whatever you wanna call it (people like Cordero who for some reason DOESN'T LIKE STAR WARS and had the nerve to tell me and about 4 other coworkers that he didn't even want a lightsaber [which is a dirty, bold-faced LIE! I don't care who you are or whether or not you like Star Wars - EVERYONE wants a lightsaber!]) because I honestly don't think I could get romantically involved with someone who claimed they found Star Wars boring (WTF CORDERO?! Really?! I KNEW there was something I didn't like about you!).

The room hasn't gotten clean yet, but there are 64 Star Wars books on this shelf. 3 are loaned out (67), I'm missing 6 NJO books (from that period of time where my mother refused to buy me anymore books and made me go to the library, for 73) plus the whole other box that I don't have the heart to put up. That's like, almost 100 Star Wars books. Someone stop me. I think I have a problem.

So... I should stop rereading Vector Prime, shouldn't I?

Wow! I've got the same problem then. I've got a bookshelf full of audios. From Shadows of the Empire to the Dark Empire audio adaptations, to the NJO, to Legacy of The Force. And yeah, who wouldn't want a lightsaber?! Star Wars is NOT BORING. People who say that have never read the books or really paid too much attention to the films. There's always a huge battle, a freakin awesome lightsaber duel, or all rolled into one. There are some space related shows and books that are boring to the max, but SW ain't one of them.

I've actually got to get another bookshelf because I'm starting to obtain unabridged versions of the audio books I already own. Some of them I don't need a shelf for, like Fate of the Jedi because those are all unabridged and I'm able to download those from audible.com. So that saves lots of room. I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going to put my Clone Wars era novels.

I've got JUST enough room for all of the books (I left spaces for the ones I loaned out), but as soon as Omen comes out or I get around to getting the NJO books I'm missing I'm gonna need another bookshelf! Frick! As soon as I can spare the money, I'm gonna get my dad to help me mount a wall shelf above my desk. Ikea has a really cute one that's only $30, but I lack both the powertools and the necessary skills to hang it up. Double frick!

That's probably what I'll end up doing. Putting a bookshelf above my desk. But like you, I don't possess tools or skills enough to do so! My dad's a pro at that stuff, so I'mnot worried. I hope you get those NJO books you've been wanting. I'd really like to read Boba Fett: A practical Man set right before NJO. That sounds interesting.

I should not be awed that 100+ SW books exist and you own the majority of them D8

Oh, here's the real kicker: I stick to one side of the timeline. I've only touched two books that take place before, during, or immediately after the prequel trilogy (because I have no interest in the Clone Wars, and only a little in the Jedi Order before the purges), so that's like... half of the published books I'm staying away from. Almost everything I own is what takes place after Return of the Jedi.

You agree I have a problem, yes?

I don't know if I can agree yet. I am still gaping in awe.

That is truly terrifying, and yet I am not at all surprised.

I wish you could spend the night and we would be up the whole time talking about Solo kid smut and reading the books and watching the movies. <3
